Description

Resulting from the artist's collaboration with master woodcrafters Elia Salcher and Moritz Ploner of Atelier 3DW in Northern Italy, the functional sculpture series explores the literal and symbolic notion of water as a powerful natural force and essential element— one that carves, marks, and shapes both the surface and depths of the earth. This inspiration translated into fluid forms and organic curves that evoke the movement of receding waves, formations etched by long-vanished currents, or the silhouettes of water droplets that malleably mold one another as they cluster and merge.

Verónica Mar

Based in Madrid, Verónica Mar creates functional sculptures inspired by nature. The organic lines of her pieces give homage to the essential beauty of nature through textures and materiality which emote in a natural way. All of her creations have their own soul, they express a duality inherent in everything that exists.

Mar has been working closely with local Spanish artisans whose expertise accompany the evolution of her pieces. The artist advocates for traditional craftsmanship as a key element to ecological sustainability and cultural harmony for its tactile experience and the cultural heritage behind it.

Since 2007 Veronica's designs have garnered international recognition from both private and institutional clients. Widely published in the press, her Autumn Leaf Swing and the Soul Sculpture Bench have received international design awards.
