Description

The Drops series of clustered side tables was inspired by the malleable silhouettes of merging water droplets, drawn from the artist’s childhood memories of staring at water droplets at her grandmother's window as they clustered and fused on the glass, or the concentric circles formed by rain on the surface of the water. The Drops’ rounded forms, carved in wood and marble by Mar’s local artisans in Spain, carry a compelling tension between the solid nature and weight of their materials and the lightness and fluidity of their water-inspired silhouettes.
