New York-based esteemed artist, Ted Muehling has been designing a variety of collections and objects for Porzellan Manufaktur Nymphenburg since 1999. The vases, lanterns, and candlesticks he has designed are largely inspired by and shaped after corals, leaves, branches, and, in this case, a tree branch.
Muehling has been designing jewelry and objects inspired by nature since 1976. "I try to restrict my vocabulary of shape by abstracting forms from nature and transforming them with the aim of creating objects that function just as well as they look. My designs trace the invisible shapes that exist between nature and our perception of it."
Today, Ted Muehling's work may be found in numerous private and public collections.
