Between 1910 and 1914 Josef Hoffmann designed a series of goblets for Lobmeyr. The ensemble of four individual glassworks is a perfect representation of the design elements typical to the Wiener Werkstatte. The precise hand-cutting of the cuppa might - to this day - take the glass cutters to the edge of their abilities. The glass polishing itself is executed in three consecutive steps to keep the edges crisp. The goblets were first presented at the 1914 Werkbund exhibition in Cologne and subsequently sold at the stores of Wiener Werkstätte.
Widely published and included in significant collections - both institutional and private, the set has been part of numerous museum exhibitions around the world.
