Description
The advent of espresso in the 1950s brought new life to Vienna's coffeehouse scene. Inspired by the light-heartedness of the Italian way of life, architect Oswald Haerdtl designed the interiors of numerous cafés in the style of the time, including the famous Arabia Espresso at Vienna's Kohlmarkt. The design of his cutlery reflects the positive, buoyant mood of the epoch. It's fine, deeply engraved fluting quotes from classical forms of decoration and is enriched by contemporary Italian influences.
