Description
This vase was created in the 1920s by Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann for the Manufacture Royale de Sèvres. The cone-shaped body of the vase is mounted on a hand-painted circular foot. The deep blue of Sèvres' color pigments and glaze is brought out by the gilded edges and neck of the piece. The vase comes from a series of works the artist developed initially with France’s revered porcelain manufacturer and was later part of the designer's retrospective exhibition at the Centre Pompidou.
