This collection of artists' rugs from Sabine de Gunzburg are hand-woven with the finest natural silk, hand-dyed, and hand-spun at the feet of the Himalayas by master-weavers using the time-honored rug-weaving techniques of the region. The rugs may be used on the floor or hung as tapestries. Each features the artist’s signature and is certified by the Estate.

Vladimir Kagan

Vladimir Kagan was born in Worms, Germany in 1927. After coming to the United States in 1938, Kagan studied Architecture at Columbia University. In 1947, he joined his father, master cabinetmaker Illi Kagan, to work in his woodcraft shop where he learned furniture making from the ground up. From there on, Kagan went on an unwavering path, building one of the most significant American design catalogues of the 20th Century. Today Kagan's design pieces belong to both private and institutional collections around the world. The esteemed designer passed away in 2016, leaving a void in the community, as well as a rich design legacy behind.
