Inspired by Copper beakers from the Middle Ages, the Alpha collection was designed in 1952 for postwar families seeking simple elegance and practicality. Its pure lines result from Lobmeyr's renowned muslin glass; an ultra-thin, hand-blown, lead-free crystal that has become the Viennese glassmakers’ signature for its extraordinary lightness and surprising resilience. Available with engraved and hand-painted details such as in the Tulipmania series, the classic Alpha forms may be ordered adorned with illustrations inspired by The Tulip Book of 1634. Each flower is hand-painted in vivid enamels.
