Multi-disciplinary artist Jaume Roig was initially drawn to sculpture before expanding his body of work to two-dimensional expressions including painting and felted or woven tapestry. His work is often inspired by ancient forms of expression dating back to cave paintings. 

A second-generation ceramicist, the Mallorcan artist honed his craft while growing up in his mother's studio. The artist has since developed his own vocabulary along with an ongoing body of work in both ceramics and painting. Roig’s sculptural vessels and organic shapes offer an intimate and modern take on the region’s ancestral ceramic tradition, its cultural heritage, and artistic legacy. Jaume draws inspiration from the natural surroundings of Ses Salines, in the south of Mallorca, where he finds the necessary elements for his work, be it the stones, the telluric landscapes, the faults of the sea, or the neutral colors.
