As part of their Omakase collection of handcrafted objects representative of Japan’s ongoing design craftsmanship legacy, COOL HUNTING founders Evan Orensten and Josh Rubin invited Kanaami-Tsuji’s second-generation Kyo Kanaami master Toru Tsuji to create a limited edition strainer using the Japanese metal knitting time-honored techniques. Emblematic of the region of Kyoto, the strainers result from hours of painstaking knitting. Nakagawa Mokkougei created the custom wood handles for this limited edition. These functional little works of art are available individually or as part of the COOL HUNTING Omakase set, including additional pieces by Kyoto-based master craftsmen.
